Team Captain

 

Reports to: Shop Leader

Job Summary: The Team Captain is responsible for serving our Guests the best ice cream in the South, maintaining a noticeably clean work environment behind the counter and in the Guest areas, keeping our service area stocked and organized, opening and closing the shop, handling cash deposits, and coaching and training our crew members.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the Essential Intent of Hattie Jane’s Creamery: “To create a truly Southern experience through ice cream.” 

  • Serve each of our menu items according to company standards. 

  • Know and understand our menu down to the ingredients in each ice cream. 

  • Maintain a noticeably clean work environment throughout the entirety of the shift. 

  • Prepare the next shift for success. 

  • Follow all opening, running, and closing procedures to company standards. 

  • Responsible for security of the store, opening and closing the shop according to company guidelines

  • Cash handling and reporting 

  • Making cash deposits and exchanging cash at the designated bank. 

  • Coaching and training our Crew Members and Key Holders.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Toast Point of Sale System

  • Sling Scheduling and Communications

  • Google for Business : Google Email, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Google Calendar

Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age or older (if under 18, must start as Ice Cream Crew Member)

  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Must pass the federally mandated E-verify process.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers and guests

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Be able to work weekend and evening shifts, including late nights (11:00pm on weekends).

  • Must be self-disciplined, take initiative, have leadership ability, and must be outgoing. 

  • Must have a pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance. 

  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to shop problems. 

  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff. 

  • This position is subject to a background check including driving and criminal records.
