Production Assistant

 

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Summary: The Production Assistant is responsible for preparing our products to serve our shops and partners which includes but is not limited to baking cookies, cakes and pies; prepping ingredients to go into our ice creams; and producing our ice cream. The Production Assistant also assists in packing and shipping our products nationwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the Essential Intent of Hattie Jane’s Creamery: “To create a truly Southern experience through ice cream.” 

  • Preparing quality items such as, cookies, brownies, cakes, pies and other items related to the Creamery’s menu according to Hattie Jane’s recipe specifications 

  • Preparing ice creams according to our recipe specifications and strictly adhering to our operations procedures to reduce the risk of allergen cross contamination

  • Cleaning equipment and smallwares throughout the shift 

  • Thoroughly sanitizing ice cream machines according to our operating procedures

  • Maintaining a clean work environment at all times 

  • Operating the production kitchen according to our operations procedures and in compliance with Department of Agriculture and Health Department standards 

  • Maintaining necessary and required records

  • Packing and shipping product according to company specifications and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


 Tools & Technology:

  • Basic kitchen equipment (knives, mixers, food processors, ovens, hot plates, etc.) 

  • Ice Cream Machines 

  • Google for Business : Google Email, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Google Calendar

  • Slack for Business

Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age or older 

  • Have reliable transportation to and from work

  • Must pass the federally mandated E-verify process

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers and guests

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently 25-50lbs

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

  • Must be self-disciplined, take initiative, able to work through a task list

  • Must have a pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance 

  • Must be able to be obsessively clean in the work environment 

  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to production problems

  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
