Who makes the ice cream?
Meet the twins that make it all happen.
For this National Ice Cream Month, we wanted to highlight two of our key team members that make the magic happen at Hattie Jane’s behind the curtain.
Kaitlyn Blalock is our Production Manager at our HQ in Columbia, Tennessee. That means that she supports our Operations Director Autumn Friese in making sure that the ice cream gets made, packaged, and delivered to each of our ice cream shops and our wholesale partners, and shipped to your door. Her twin sister, Kara Blalock is our Production Assistant and works with Kaitlyn in the kitchen spinning our ice creams into each unique flavor.
These two amazing women are a crucial part of what we do at Hattie Jane’s, and without them we simply wouldn’t have the scoops that make everyone so happy. What we especially love about Kaitlyn and Kara is that they are no muss, no fuss. They are hard-working, dedicated, driven, and oh so sweet (no pun intended).
Here are a few fun facts about our dynamic duo:
They were born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee (our hometown!)
They are both big sports fans, especially baseball, and most especially of the Atlanta Braves. Kara’s goal is to hit all of the MLB stadiums (and I’m sure Kaitlyn wouldn’t mind tagging along)
Kara has a degree from MTSU in journalism and would love to move into a full time role in the media realm. She has her eye on podcasting or photography.
Kaitlyn has an associate’s degree in nutrition and food science and an exercise science bachelor’s degree from MTSU.
They are both dedicated vegans and enjoy that plant-based life 🌱 (they are our best collaborators on our dairy-free ice cream flavors!)
They both love doing anything and everything outside, especially swimming and playing tennis
Despite being identical twins, Kaitlyn is taller than her sister
So cheers to Kaitlyn and Kara, thank you for making it all possible at Hattie Jane’s Creamery! 🍦🍦
